Welcome to Woodland Lake, Pinetop Lakeside In The Arizona White Mountains. Woodland Lake is a small lake but has been called the ‘Crown Jewel” of Pinetop Lakeside AZ. It is convenient to both residents and vacationers to the Pinetop Lakeside area in the Arizona White Mountains Region. It sits at an elevation of 6,892 feet which makes for ideal temperatures during early spring, summer and early fall. The lake is part of Woodland Park which closes at 8:00 PM daily. Lake Size. The lake’s water surface is 18 acres with a maximum depth of 20 feet. Since it is part of the local irrigation district, it is sometimes drawn down to 10 acres of water surface.
Fish Variety. Fish species are primarily Rainbow Trout with a few Largemouth Bass and Channel Catfish. It is stocked with catchable size rainbow trout in the spring and early summer.
Fishing.
The lake features great shore fishing. Try spinning lures from the dam, fishing pier or from the shoreline. Trolling is usually productive early in the spring and early simmer before the lake weeds begin growing. A state fishing license with a trout stamp is required for anglers over 13 years-old. The daily bag limit is six trout for licensed anglers and three for unlicensed fisherman age 13 or younger.
Camping, Hiking & Amenities.
The amenities at Woodland Park and Woodland Lake include hiking trails, picnic tables, ramadas, restrooms, a volleyball court, tennis court, two children’s playgrounds, ball fields, boat ramp, and a floating fishing dock. There are no campground facilities. The nearest campground is Lakeside Campground on Highway 260 about a 1/4 mile west of Porter Mountain Road in Lakeside. The Lakeside Campground includes 82 sites, vault toilets, potable water and firewood for sale. Call (877) 444-6777 for more information and campground reservations.
Woodland Lake is located just west of White Mountain Blvd. in Pinetop. Turn south on Woodland Lake Road at the Chevron gas station and drive about 1/4 mile to one of two entrances to the park. The park closes at 8:00 PM.
