At low tide the beach is over two miles long, here on top of Chapel Rock you get an excellent view of Perranporth beach at low tide, extending Northwards to Penhale Sands.Perranporth beach  is a popular,It is a great place for surfing, snorkelling, sailing and generally splashing around.

When high Summer the South end of the beach near the entrance can get very crowded but you can escape the crowds by heading North towards Penhale Sands. The beach is lifeguarded in Summer and there are usually two patrolled swimming areas.

The gorge is the site of the Cheddar show caves, where Britain’s oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, estimated to be 9,000 years old.

Gough’s cave, leading to the Diamond Chamber and Solomon’s Temple, is the largest of the caves and was discovered in 1890 by sea captain Richard Gough. The exhibition explains how the cave was carved out over a million years by ice age meltwaters.
Two main caves are open to the public – the extensive Gough’s Cave and the smaller Cox’s Cave, named after their respective discoverers. Both are known for their geology, and it has been suggested that the caves were the site of prehistoric cheese-making

Colossal Cave is located in the desert of Arizona. While there must have been water while it was formed, today this cave is extraordinarily dry. The meaning of this is that its formations are completely dry, or “dead”, and do not grow. This is because the cave was formed by water depositing limestone, but this source has disappeared. It instead feeds the “active” nearby Arkenstone Cave that continues to grow formations.
Artifacts confirm that Colossal Cave was used as shelter by the ancient Hohokam Indians  from about 900 through 1450 AD.
The Hohokam, Sobaipuri, and the Apache people once used the cave. Artifacts have been found throughout the cave, but most of the artifacts were found near the entrances. The museum in the La Posta Quemada Ranch has exhibits about the history of the ranch and the caves in the park.
The first guided tours were made by Frank Schmidt, a German immigrant, since 1922. At this time the cave was not developed, the tours were made with ropes and lanterns. The development was done by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1934. They constructed trails and handrails, and installed electric light in the cave. A number of surface buildings, which are used until today, were constructed using local limestone.
Colossal Cave has never been fully explored. Although there are an estimated 39 miles of cave tunnels, it took over two years to map just two miles of passageway where tours penetrate six stories deep into the cave. Visitors can choose from ongoing daily “generic tours” or can arrange more adventurous tours through darkened more narrow passages requiring hardhats and good physical fitness. There are even “candlelight tours” where each visitor is given a lighted candle to experience the cave as the Hohokam did over a thousand years ago without electric-powered lights.
There are actually two caves. The first of course is Colossal Cave which visitors tour daily. The other is “Arkenstone”, a “live cave” which continues to grow formations. Arkenstone has been designated a research site and access is limited to only scientific researchers. A collection of photographs by Randy Gruss at the La Posta Quemada Ranch Museum gives the public amazing views of the beauty inside Arkenstone Cave.

Navajo Falls is the first major waterfall we saw as we followed the Havasu Creek downstream from Supai Village in the Havasupai Reservation. one of the main attractions of Navajo Falls is the tremendously intricate details of greenery and caves that this area provides. Unfortunately, in August 2008, Navajo was destroyed due to a flood that caused the water to revert course away from the Cliff that was Navajo Falls.
Devastating floods in late Summer of 2008 have caused the closure and subsequent re-opening of the Havasupai Indian Reservation to visitors. In the wake of the floods, this falls no longer flows as debris has diverted the feeding creek away from the falls. In its place are now cliffs and dead foliage, but there are two new waterfalls nearby in the canyon.

Discovered in 1863 by an American hunter, the caves originally opened in 1958 and became internationally known for the spectacular and sometimes macabre contortions of stalactites and stalagmites, stone curtains and columns. With their fantastic rock formations, the caves have attracted some 10,000 visitors a week since the site was reopened to the public in July 1995.

The Jeita grotto is the longest explored cave in Lebanon. After many years of exploration, speleologists have penetrated about 6,200 metres (20,300 ft) from the entry point of the lower grotto to the far end of the underground river and about 2,130 metres (6,990 ft) of the upper galleries.

Aside from being a Lebanese national symbol and a top tourist destination, the Jeita grotto plays an important social, economic and cultural role and is a finalist in the New 7 Wonders of Nature competition.
