Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete Is Miss Universe 2010
Jimena Navarrete won the title of Miss Universe at last night’s pageant in Las Vegas.The second Miss Universe ever, Navarrete replaces the 2009 winner, Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela. Miss USA, Rima Fakih, did not make the top 15 finalists.
Mexico’s president, Felipe Calderon, issued a statement celebrating Navarrete, saying, “Her triumph is a source of pride and satisfaction for all Mexicans, who see in her the fruits of perseverance.”

Navarrete’s title comes with a package of prizes — including an undisclosed salary, a luxury New York apartment with living expenses, a one-year scholarship to the New York Film Academy with housing after her reign is complete, plus jewelry, and shoes and a new wardrobe.
