Kraton Yogyakarta (palace)

Kraton or palace is located in downtown Yogyakarta. has a page called by the name “North Square” (field). in former times used as a gathering place for the people, war for the soldiers, and traditional ceremonies.
At the time of the palace of Prince Mangkubumi pasangrahan used as a place with a name Ayodya. In the year 1755 occurred the contents Giyanti agreement divides the two kingdoms namely Mataram Sultanate of Surakarta Pakubowono chaired by the Sunan and the Sultanate Ngayogyakarta III

(Yogyakarta), led by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I.
Yogyakarta Palace complex is divided into seven core of Siti Hinggil LER, LER Kamandhungan, Sri Manganti, Kedhaton, Kamagangan, South Kamndhungan, Siti Hinggil South. All the palace complex has a value philosophy and mythology.

Kraton Complex Functions
1. Siti Hinggil LER
Used As with the ceremonial palace, as a place waiting for his army leaders, and also as a place where the courtiers give people the petition and complaint.

2. Kamandhangan Lor
The building was used as a place to prosecute the case with the death penalty where the Emperor himself who presided at the trial. also used as ceremonial as Grebeg and sekaten.

3. Sri Manganti
This room is used for receiving important guests of the kingdom. We now turn to the function storage pusakakeraton wrought.

4. Kedhaton
Kedhaton is the main palace of the dirindangi some trees. Served as a ceremonial royal family and state. But not all places in this room opened to the public.

5. Kamagangan
This place is used as a receiving clerk candidate ( “courtiers”)

6. South Kamndhungan
In this room there is only ward with Kamandhungan name.

7. Siti Hinggil South
Formerly used by the palace soldiers do Grebeg ceremony rehearsal, where the human race watch and tigers, and the practice of women soldiers. Now used as a puppet show and so on.
