A region consisting of the Caribbean Sea, its islands (most of which enclose the sea), and the surrounding coasts.
The region consists of the Antilles, divided into the larger Greater Antilles which bound the sea on the north, the Lesser Antilles on the south and east (including the Leeward Antilles), the Bahamas, and the Turks and Caicos Islands or the Lucayan Archipelago, which are in fact in the Atlantic Ocean north of Cuba, not in the Caribbean Sea.
These islands, called the West Indies, generally form island arcs that delineate the eastern and northern edges of the Caribbean Sea.
Bonaire is also chosen by many as a repeat Caribbean Island vacation because of the warmth and friendliness of the local people. It also has the reputation of being a very laid back place, where everything is tranquil and the pace of life is almost slow to stop which many people really love as a complete change from the ever increasing pace of their lives.

The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in the United States in the state of Arizona. It is largely contained within the Grand Canyon National Park. The Grand Canyon, with its mile-high, multicolored rock walls, craggy cliffs, and sandy slopes, is the embodiment of nature’s awesome power and surpassing beauty.

The Grand Canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and attains a depth of over a mile (1.83 km) (6000 feet).[1] Nearly two billion years of the Earth’s geological history have been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut their channels through layer after layer of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted.

Regardless of how you view the Grand Canyon — braving the river rapids, hiking from rim to rim, riding a mule or stopping your car at lookouts — you won’t leave without experiencing the wonder that this awe-inspiring gorge evokes in the millions of visitors who come to see it each year. The majestic canyon, an ever-changing display of colours.

Watching the incredible sunset from Lipan Point, trekking down the Bright Angel Trail, the backpackers’ favourite, or picnicking at the popular Vista Encantadora viewing area, you’ll understand why President Theodore Roosevelt declared the canyon a National Monument in 1908, calling it “the one great site which every American…should see”.

Before European immigration, the area was inhabited by Native Americans who built settlements within the canyon and its many caves. The Pueblo people considered the Grand Canyon (“Ongtupqa” in Hopi language) a holy site and made pilgrimages to it.

Few caverns in the world approach the magnificent and astonishing wealth of the extent of those of Jeita, as raindrops of more than hundreds thousands years have worked a magic wonder in the limestone of the Mount Lebanon range near the Dog River.
Discovered in 1863 by an American hunter, the caves originally opened in 1958 and became internationally known for the spectacular and sometimes macabre contortions of stalactites and stalagmites, stone curtains and columns. With their fantastic rock formations, the caves have attracted some 10,000 visitors a week since the site was reopened to the public in July 1995.

The Jeita grotto is the longest explored cave in Lebanon. After many years of exploration, speleologists have penetrated about 6,200 metres (20,300 ft) from the entry point of the lower grotto to the far end of the underground river and about 2,130 metres (6,990 ft) of the upper galleries.

Aside from being a Lebanese national symbol and a top tourist destination, the Jeita grotto plays an important social, economic and cultural role and is a finalist in the New 7 Wonders of Nature competition.
